Roger Anderson
Head of Media Relations
Roger Anderson is a multi award-winning sports producer and critically acclaimed writer with more than 20-years journalistic experience in both the broadcast and written mediums.
In his time at BBC Northern Ireland he produced live sport including Northern Ireland international football, Irish Cup Finals, the Under-19 Rugby World Cup, and an All-Ireland Gaelic Football Final. He has also produced numerous documentaries on everything from golf to rugby, cycling to boxing; and in 2006 won a Royal British Television Society Award for ‘We’re Not Brazil We’re Northern Ireland’.
Prior to entering broadcast journalism with Ulster Television, Roger worked as both a sports reporter and editor. A former British Weekly Sports Writer of the Year and Northern Ireland Sports Journalist of the Year, he also penned an Irish sport column for The Mail On Sunday.
Roger is a three-time published author, having ghost-written biographies for Manchester United legend Harry Gregg and local television presenter Jackie Fullerton, together with ‘The Fighting Irish, a book chronicling the history of Irish and Irish-American professional boxing.
With extensive sporting knowledge and enviable industry experience Roger brings to the fore a vision for Sports marketing in Northern Ireland. He is setting a benchmark for how brands can activate sponsorship and achieve maximum return and has already in his short time with the agency attracted a wave of new sporting talent to the agency including Olympic cyclist Wendy Houvenaghel, Colin Turkington and Al Mennie.
